Tirana is located between the Mountain Dajti and Adriatic Sea. The climate is one typical for the Mediterranean Climate. The climate is characterized by hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The wettest months are November, December and February. It is rarely cold and snow is not common in downtown. The high mountains near Tirana accumulate snow during the winter and keep the snow for a few months. The lowest temperature during the year could be expected to be at around 2 centigrade degrees in January, and the highest temperature during the year could be expected to be at around 31 centigrade degrees in July and August. Summers are not too humid.
